Miss SNPJ 2024 MORGAN SINAN is a member of SNPJ Lodge 782 in Glenshaw, Pa. She is the daughter of Kathleen and Maurice Sinan (782), and the granddaughter of Angela “Fran” (87) and the late Maurice Sinan Sr., and Richard and Valerie (782) Kelly. She is the great-granddaughter of late former SNPJ National Board member Frank D. Gradisek (87).

Morgan currently resides in Erie, Pa., where she is earning her Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity with a minor in innovation and creativity at Gannon University. At Gannon, Morgan is a member of the women’s soccer team; the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC); the Cyber Defense Club, where she holds the position of vice president; and works with the University Advancement Office.

Morgan competes at the semi-professional level with the Erie Commodores UWS women’s soccer team. As the starting goalkeeper, Morgan helped the Commodores place third in the Eastern Conference during the team’s inaugural season. Through the Commodores, she has had many opportunities to volunteer, including coaching a weekly clinic for children from the community.

Morgan graduated from Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, Pa., with high honors and recognitions from the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. While at Seneca Valley, she was a member of the Key Club, Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Spark, and the Society of Women for Excellence in Engineering and Technology (SWEET). She was also a longtime member of the Seneca Valley Band, participating in the wind ensemble, jazz ensembles, and percussion ensemble. She also had the opportunity to participate in the Seneca Valley Architecture, Construction and Engineering externship, and was among the few students selected to help with the new elementary school development process.

Throughout high school, Morgan earned soccer, basketball, and track and field accolades on the local and national stage. Personal honors include the Big 56 First Team, All-Section, All-WPIAL, Tri-Athlete Award, and Tri-State Orthopedics Player of the Month recognition in November 2018 and October 2019.

A lifetime SNPJ member, Morgan has been an active member of SNPJ and the Slovenian community. She attended her first Slovenefest, in 2002, in a stroller. Growing up, she participated in Youth Circle 36 bowling at SNPJ Lodge 6 in Sygan, numerous other Lodge and Circle activities, as well as the annual SNPJ Youth Roundup, Young Adult Conference and Family Weeks. During the 2022 Young Adult Conference, Morgan was elected alternate delegate to the 2022 SNPJ Quadrennial Convention.

Growing up in a family of proud Slovenians, Morgan absorbed years of stories and knowledge about her family’s Slovenian heritage. In 2018 and 2023 she had the opportunity to travel to Slovenia with her family to see Kamnik, the town the Gradiseks are from, and trace more of her Slovenian heritage with her family.
